A lot of coaches who create amazing content forget about the email marketing sales funnels that would allow them to convert it.
As Danielle Sabrina put it: ‘What’s the point of having a dope creative activation that generates press or buzz and not has the proper funnels set up digitally that can follow up and nurture those potential clients until they become actual clients?‘
In this post, I will give you some go-to strategies and ready-made templates for newsletter sequences that you can use to follow up on your posts and convert those readers into clients 😉
Note: it’s not like I’m gonna tell you *what to say* to *your clients* or how. I’m just going to give you a framework and a system, which you will fill with your knowledge and value.
Why do we need this?
When asked why they failed to include an email marketing sales funnel in their blog, authors usually give two reasons:
Lack of time
Consistency/accountability / self-discipline issue
This is because a good email marketing sales funnel should be actually *relevant* to the post content, not a generic newsletter you send to everyone.
So a lot of blog authors may feel like it’s going to be way too much work to create one.
They also feel at a loss on how to convey the value of their services through an email sequence – without being salesy.
Since it takes on average 7 points of contact to convert a lead into a paying customer, the authors may also lack confidence in how to break their content down into several steps that would logically lead the customer to…the checkout.
Say, you are a health coach writing on diverse topics, such as:
- How to deal with emotional eating
- How to deal with anxiety and insomnia naturally
When someone is reading a post like that they are looking for an answer to a *specific* problem. People with insomnia don’t want to hear about emotional eating (and vice versa).
I mean, you can send them one, but how is going to convince them that you can solve their specific problem?
Conclusion: you should create a separate newsletter sequence that will ‘breadcrumb’ the lead from the post to your checkout for each post (= email marketing sales funnel).
Hold on: whaaat?!
Creating a separate newsletter sequence for each post seems like a lot of work…
…but it doesn’t need to be. As usual, it’s all about having a clear strategy + a customizable template you can use for every email in the sequence, and using email automation to make the sequence come out automatically.
So, if you have a sequence of 4 newsletters + offers, you will end up writing only about 1000 words for each sequence.
You can do that in an hour.
Let’s see how.
Here’s a universal flowchart of your emails and a template you can use for any ‘pain-point’ sequence:
Mark that not all warm leads will turn into clients. The flow chart also illustrates that.
Tip No. #1: Don’t spend time designing fancy newsletter templates. It’s a waste of time. What really does the selling is great, genuine content of under 300 words in each newsletter.
Just focus on filling in the ‘custom’ elements of the templates with lots of value to show of how knowledgeable you are on the topic (and that you can really help the client!)

Mark that you are not trying to hard-sell anything in those emails. You just want to take the client to a call with you, so you can show them the value of your service for *them* specifically and encourage them to become your client.
And now what?
- Go through your previous blog posts and see if there are anywhere you could insert an email marketing sales funnel.
- Use the sequence above to respond to the pain point discussed in the post. Add more details, resources (and value!) to the templates!
- Automate the sequence. If you’re not using any email marketing automation tools yet, you can use ours for free here.
- Wait for leads and see them convert 😉
- Good luck!
P.S.: Still not clear how to develop your sequence / improve your blog so it converts better? I have recently developed a blueprint for that you can get here. You can also reach out to me to schedule a free call to talk about it: emilia@getanewsletter.com

Yeah, I completely agree that many entrepreneurs think that a sales funnel takes so much time or it’s too complicated. But I also know that there a ton of people who under estimate the necessity for a sales funnel these days.
I share videos on my channel that show how easy it is to set up and hope that it can help enlighten a few motivated souls. 🙂
