The tool recommended adding more length to improve the engagement results.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This tool records the action words in every subject line. For Cheekwood\u2019s subject line, the only action word was \u201cspring.\u201d But because there were only two words in the subject line, action words accounted for 50% of the copy.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The second tool mentioned in the previous section \u2014 the Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer \u2014 is unique because it measures the emotional value of your messaging.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, the tool ranks subject lines based on factors like intellect, empathy, and spirituality.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, this tool can\u2019t register Cheekwood\u2019s subject line, and here\u2019s why.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aminstitute.com\/headline\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, a subject line has to be at least four words to be analyzed. Something you should also note is that this tool won\u2019t factor emojis into the emotional value results.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Put some Spring in your step with our new seasonal blend! \ud83c\udf38<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1120\" height=\"649\" src=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-1120x649.png\" alt=\"spring newsletter wildflower\" class=\"wp-image-20211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-1120x649.png 1120w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-300x174.png 300w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-768x445.png 768w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1-1536x890.png 1536w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-1.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This email subject line was created by Chattanooga-based business, Wildflower Tea Shop &amp; Apothecary.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When vetted through the Email Subject Line Grader, <a href=\"https:\/\/emailsubjectlinegrader.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the results<\/a> were extremely positive on the whole:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Like the previous subject line, the copy earned a score of 100 for subject line type.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The character count was slightly below the tool\u2019s 50-60 ideal at 49 characters. However, this is considered standard for the majority of subject lines.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The tool suggested that shortening the subject line could lead to a better response from recipients, but even still, this length is not too excessive.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lastly, three action words were identified \u201cspring,\u201d \u201cstep,\u201d and \u201cblend\u201d which brings the subject line\u2019s average to 27.27%.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike the \u201cHello, Spring!\ud83c\udf37\u201d subject line, Wildflower Tea Shop\u2019s subject line was compatible with the Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This subject line earned a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aminstitute.com\/process\/headline.cgi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">27.27% score<\/a>. Though this score might seem low, it\u2019s actually a strong score when you consider that headlines and subject lines typically fall within the 30% to 40% range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tool also evaluated the quality of the copy and found that this subject line has \u201ctriple impact,\u201d meaning that it appeals to recipients on an intellectual, empathetic, and spiritual level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;\ud83c\udf40 You\u2019re In Luck! \ud83c\udf40<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1120\" height=\"732\" src=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-1120x732.png\" alt=\"spring newsletter cheekwood\" class=\"wp-image-20213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-1120x732.png 1120w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-768x502.png 768w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2-1536x1003.png 1536w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-2.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The third subject line that we want to call attention to is \u201c\ud83c\udf40 You\u2019re In Luck! \ud83c\udf40,\u201d which was also sent out by Cheekwood Estate &amp; Gardens.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the copy earned a perfect score for subject line type via the Email Subject Line Grader, the tool pointed out <a href=\"https:\/\/emailsubjectlinegrader.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a few specific ways<\/a> that the copy could be improved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To start, the tool recommended that the character length (which is currently 17 characters) should be extended and the word count should be about six or seven words rather than three.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Another issue is that the tool didn\u2019t pick up on any action words that carry emotion, action, or power. A lack of action words could negatively affect how recipients respond to the email.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>(But, on the other hand, this type of subject line could make people curious about the contents of the email and lead to higher open rates. Once again, the only way to find out for certain would be to run A\/B tests.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like the first Cheekwood email subject line, the results from the Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer tool were inconclusive because this subject line doesn\u2019t meet the minimum word count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Things are looking spring<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1120\" height=\"764\" src=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3-1120x764.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3-1120x764.png 1120w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3-300x205.png 300w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3-768x524.png 768w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3-1536x1048.png 1536w, https:\/\/getanewsletter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image-3.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This subject line from Starbucks\u2019 2021 email marketing campaign.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When vetted through the Email Subject Line Grader, <a href=\"https:\/\/emailsubjectlinegrader.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the results<\/a> are quite different than they were for the last three subject lines:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Though the previous subject lines scored 100 for subject line type, the copy for this one had a score of 67.
